Botox Injection
Botox injection (BI) is a minimally invasive treatment used for chronic painful muscle syndromes, such as chronic migraines (> 15 headaches per month) and occipital neuralgia.
A thin needle is inserted into the muscle and botox is directly injected with multiple injections.
The botulinum type A toxin forces the injected muscle to relax by blocking nerve signals that cause the muscle to contract.
It usually starts working within 10-14 days and typically lasts for 3-4 months. Repeat injections are usually required to experience long term effects.
Botox injections are safe.
