Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a procedure performed following a medial branch or lateral sacral branch block that confirms the source of pain.

It is minimally invasive and involves heating a small area of the nerve with radio waves to block pain signals from reaching the brain.

Pain relief may last several months to years, and the pain may or may not return once the nerve regenerates.

RFA is generally safe and can be a very effective therapy for post arthroplasty pain.

To be assessed as a potential candidate for this procedure at our facility, please obtain a referral from your physician to set an appointment.
